If your intended audience is ‘everyone’ then your marketing plan needs to be able to reach everyone. But if you narrow-cast, and you are successful at satisfying the unique needs of your targetted audience, then they will do a lot of the marketing work for you.
It is becoming increasingly risky for organizations to signal they are producing an amateur podcast. The audience will come to the conclusion you are as you sound. And when they do, they will choose to not bear with you.
